November Update: 150+ Bugfixes, New African Collection Items & SimSearch Beta
Hooray, a new The Sims 4 update is out! In addition to more than 150 bug fixes (which we’ve already covered in detail), the developers have released new free content.
The new CAS and Build/Buy items reflect the history and design traditions of West Africa. The update was created in collaboration with the Pan African Gaming Group (PAGG) and Simmers whose lives and cultural experiences are directly connected to West African countries and to the diaspora in the UK and North America.
“This natural and inspiring collaboration allowed us to create content that honors the beauty and complexity of West African culture,” say PAGG representatives Maame Adjei and Kasyoka Mwanzia.
New Build & Buy Items
The Build/Buy collection combines natural tones, geometric patterns, and traditional craftsmanship passed down through generations.
Here are the main additions:
- Okuta Lamp with Woven Shade
The name Okuta comes from a Nigerian word meaning “stone.” The lamp features a solid base and a textured woven shade, adding warmth and character to any interior.

Improved Gallery Search Coming Soon
A recently leaked (and quickly deleted) Instagram Story from the official The Sims account revealed a new upcoming Gallery feature called SimSearch. This tool is designed to make searching for lots, Sims, and rooms significantly easier and more intuitive.
According to the official German patch notes, SimSearch will launch in Beta and will include two main features:
- Cross-Language Search (Beta): You’ll be able to search using keywords in your own language, and the Gallery will still return relevant results even if the creator used a different language in their descriptions or hashtags.
- Text-to-Image Search (Beta): The Gallery will analyze preview images and find creations that visually match the word you entered. In the initial Beta phase, this feature works best with single-word search terms.
