EA has revealed new details about the upcoming recipes arriving with The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy. These dishes were created in collaboration with popular custom content creators and are designed specifically to reflect the atmosphere of the kingdom of Ondarion, drawing inspiration from West African, Portuguese, and Italian culinary traditions.

The developers shared a teaser on their X blog, showing Sims gathered around a large banquet table filled with the new dishes.

Dishes in Royalty & Legacy: The Idea and the Creators Behind Them

The new recipes were developed in collaboration with two well-known creators: IceMunMun (MunMun Chattopadhyay) and Littlbowbub (Jess). Both have long been recognized for their food-related custom content in The Sims 4 and brought their own unique perspective on what culinary life in the royal era of Ondarion should look like.

IceMunMun, who focused on rich and hearty meals, drew inspiration from researching global food traditions — particularly West African cuisine, one of the key cultural influences behind Royalty & Legacy.

Jess (Littlbowbub), known for her cozy and immersive cooking mods, also contributed several signature dishes that aim to add warmth and variety to Sims’ everyday lives.

Together, these recipes create a diverse menu that reflects multiple culinary traditions while adding depth to everyday life in Royalty & Legacy.

Why Food Matters in This Expansion

Including creator-made recipes in The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy goes beyond simply expanding the food catalog. As the creators themselves explain, food represents culture, atmosphere, and storytelling. A meal can do more than satisfy hunger — it can highlight traditions, strengthen family bonds, or set the tone for a grand royal feast.

IceMunMun shared that it was important for her not just to create visually appealing dishes, but to honor the cultural context behind them by studying authentic recipes, traditions, and presentation styles — elements that bring meaningful depth to the in-game world.

Jess added that food can tell stories — both epic milestones and small, intimate family moments, which is why recipes become such an integral part of gameplay.

How These Dishes Will Work In-Game

The new recipes will become available in the cooking menu when The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy launches. Players will be able to prepare them just like any other meal using stoves, refrigerators, and other kitchen appliances.

This means Sims will gain access to a broader and more culturally diverse selection of dishes, allowing players to build kitchens that feel historically and regionally authentic within the world of Ondarion. The recipes can also play a central role in balls, family dinners, and cultural celebrations, making shared meals even more meaningful for storytelling.

Creator recipes are a strong example of how The Sims 4 continues to evolve its culinary gameplay — not only visually, but culturally as well. The new dishes from IceMunMun and Littlbowbub bring a rich blend of flavors and traditions to the game, giving players more tools to craft unique family legacies and culturally inspired stories.
